Why It’s Better
- Biodegradable Made to break down more naturally.
Organize shelves beautifully with handwoven scalloped abaca baskets.
Description
Corral everyday items in a handwoven abaca basket instead of a plastic storage bin. Artisans in the Philippines weave the strong plant fiber into a structured scalloped form, while the blue-edged rim adds detail created through the construction rather than a molded finish.

Abaca
Some materials quietly outperform everything around them. Abaca is one of them. Harvested from a species of banana plant, this remarkably strong natural fiber has been woven into baskets, rugs, bags, and home goods for generations because it stands up to everyday life without feeling heavy or stiff. Its natural texture brings warmth and character that synthetic fibers struggle to imitate. As a renewable, biodegradable plant fiber, abaca offers lasting durability while keeping its footprint refreshingly simple.
