Description
Give everyday storage more meaning with this beaded sisal peace basket, made by hand in Rwanda from natural sisal and locally sourced beads. Its white beadwork connects to Rwanda's peace-basket tradition and the artisan cooperative movement that followed the country's conflict. Fair-trade employment and education programs support the women who continue that craft today.

Sisal
Derived from the tough, defense-grade leaves of the agave succulent plant, this coarse botanical fiber features incredible abrasion resistance and high structural stiffness. It forms high-performance utility twine, scrubbing brushes, and dining placemats that deliver absolute zero-waste kitchen utility while rejecting microplastic shedding nylon.
